five feet and feisty, devoted donut lover, professional country line dancer, and former hockey player
In 2015, I went on the World Race where I travelled to 11 countries in 11 months.
One of my favorite stories is from Honduras, where we worked with a local church, doing evangelism, children’s ministry, and a feeding program. It was there where I fell in love with a little boy who stole my heart. His name is David, and I put a photo of him and me for you to see too. Since the first time I saw him, I was captured by his cuteness, and then as I got to know him more, I saw his sweetness too. It was a blessing and honor to get to know this little buddy and his mother. They write to me every so often telling me that David still asks about me.
The season of the World Race has come to a close, and I spent time with my family during the holiday season. During this time, the Lord revealed to me what He had in His next plans for me. I am excited to tell you that I am doing a apprenticeship program called the Center for Global Action! This program is designed for people who just came off the World Race, and it is with the same organization that sent me on the trip last year, Adventures in Missions (AIM).
Center for Global Action (CGA) is a 6-month program spent in Gainesville, Georgia working with Adventures in Missions. As apprentices, we get to choose different tracks to be apart of and I have chosen the leadership track. That means that I get to invest in developing my leadership skills that will propel me into my future and my calling in life. Additionally, my apprenticeship in this program will be working with community outreach and church planting. In Gainesville, there is a huge hispanic culture that lives and works here, and I will be reaching out to and ministering to that group! I am so excited to continue my work with the spanish culture!
Since I have begun my work with the church planting department (Church of Gainesville) we have planted another church in a living room of a hispanic community. We have also initiated and started an English as a Second Language Class. This is an amazing opportunity. As we got to know some of the people in the community, we could see how little the english language was known and used, and that is why we have started this weekly class. Our hopes are to give the hispanic community the much-needed tool of learning english, which will help in job performance, and navigating daily life here in America. It will also build and create relationships and opportunities where we can share the Gospel and disciple this community.
I am blessed and excited to be apart of the work that is happening here in Gainesville, Georgia. I am deeply grateful to my supporters and to be able to have this opportunity to be here.
Thank you so much for your prayers and love.
